Gary is the Managing Director of Geosyntec’s consulting business in the UK and Ireland. He is a Senior Principal with more than 25 years of experience in contaminant hydrogeology research and practice. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto and was previously a Principal Research Scientist with the British Geological Survey and Research Fellow at the University of Sheffield.
Gary is leading multiple projects in complex fractured bedrock, which involves the application of high-resolution site characterization methodologies, development of advanced conceptual site models, assessment of contaminant fate and transport, evaluation of remedial options and implementation of risk-based corrective actions. Gary is working as a subject matter expert for industry in the UK, Europe, North America, South America and South Africa, including active chemical and pharamceutical manufacturing facilities and legacy sites.
Gary is a Member of CL:AIRE’s Technology and Research Group (TRG) and an Editorial Board member of QJEGH. He has has published numerous research papers and best-practice guidance documents, including the behaviour of dense and light non-aqueous phase liquids (DNAPLs and LNAPLs) and the revison of UK Monitored Natural Attenuation guidance.
