Nick Roe, MSc
Nick is a hydrogeologist with more than 11 years of experience in the implementation and management of multi-phase, contaminated soil and groundwater investigations, for a diverse range of client sectors in the UK and Ireland including pharmaceutical, power generation, nuclear fuel, chemical and petrochemical manufacturing. Nick has experience in the design and implementation of high-resolution site characterization investigations, innovative data collection and assessment techniques and remediation projects.
Nick's site investigation and remediation experience is complemented by a broad range of technical experience in the assessment of vapour intrusion issues and in the fields of human health and controlled waters risk assessment. Nick has undertaken vapour intrusion investigations and risk assessments as part of transactional due diligence projects, litigation driven projects and as part of large scale, legacy contaminated land projects.
Nick implemented innovative High-Volume Sampling (HVS) investigation techniques at a site in Belgium for characterisation of sub-slab soil gas impacts beneath operational chemical manufacturing buildings, associated with multiple large-scale chlorobenzene groundwater plumes. In 2020 Nick used Building Pressure Control (BPC) techniques for rapid assessment of trichloroethene vapour intrusion potential at an industrial facility in South Wales.
