Thomas is a Principal Environmental Consultant based in Ireland and with more than 25 years of experience focused on environmental consulting in Ireland, the UK and Germany.
Thomas has vast experience in the waste sector involving the design, engineering and environmental compliance management of licenced facilities, especially landfills. Further Thomas has managed several contaminated land, i.e. industrial and downstream oil and gas sector clients with site assessments, which have involved remedies with technologies including in situ groundwater and soil air remediation techniques. Thomas’ expertise in landfill gas management includes the site infrastructure design, landfill gas utilisation, prediction modelling, quality, trace gas and flow assessments, landfill gas pumping trials, landfill gas performance assessments, landfill gas collection system calibrations, and landfill gas migration assessments.
Thomas is a Professional Geologist with the Institute of Geologists of Ireland and holds the professional title European Geologist by the European Federation of Geologists. He has significant experience waste management and brownfield management. Thomas is listed on the Institute of Geologists of Ireland ‘Register of Competent Persons’ and has successfully completed several comprehensive Quantitative Risk Assessments carried out for historical landfill sites for the Irish EPA on behalf of Local Authorities. Most recently Thomas successfully designed and obtained the Irish EPA’s approval for the implementation of a passive bio venting system to replace active methane management of a historical landfill Site.
